The Miracle Doctor

The new miracle medical practitioner was in town. Rumor had it that he could cure anything and anybody with compound solvents and capsules made by himself, and everyone was amazed with what he can do. Everyone execpt for Mr. Smith, the town grouch(不高興的人)，who thought that his fame was exaggerated. So Mr. Smith went to this “miracle doctor” to prove that he wasn’t anybody special. So he goes the doctor’s clinic, “Hey, doc, I have lost my sense of taste. I can taste nothing’, so what are you going to do?”
The doctor scratches his head and mumbles to himself a little in medcical jargon, then tells Mr. Smith, “I don’t think you need any vitamin supplements.What you need is jar number 43.”
Jar number 43? Mr. Smith wonders. So the doctor brings the jar labeled with the number 43 and tells Mr. Smith to taste it. He taste it and immediataly spits it out, “This is too acid!” he yells.
“I just restored your impaired sense of taste Mr. Smith,” says the docor.
So Mr. Smith goes home very mad. One month later, Mr. Smith goes back to the doctor along with a new problem, “Doc,” he starts, “ I can’t remember!”
The doctor scratches his head and mumbles to himself a little and tells Mr. Smith, “What you need is jar number 43…”
Before the doctor finished his sentence, Mr. Smith shrank back and fled the office.
城里來(lái)了一個(gè)神奇的醫(yī)生。據(jù)說(shuō)他能用自己研制的復(fù)合沖劑和膠囊治好任何人，除了城里愛(ài)挑毛病的史密斯先生，所有的人都覺(jué)得他醫(yī)術(shù)很神奇。史密斯覺(jué)得醫(yī)生的名聲被夸大了，于是他去找這個(gè)神醫(yī)，想證明他沒(méi)有什么過(guò)人之處。他來(lái)到醫(yī)生的診所，對(duì)醫(yī)生說(shuō)，“喂，醫(yī)生，我失去味覺(jué)了，嘗不出任何味道，怎么辦呢？”
醫(yī)生搔了搔腦袋，用醫(yī)生的術(shù)語(yǔ)嘀咕了一會(huì)兒，然后告訴史密斯，“我認(rèn)為你不需要任何維生素方面的補(bǔ)充，你需要的是43號(hào)的罐子。”
43號(hào)的罐子？史密斯先生感到莫名其妙。于是，醫(yī)生拿出了一個(gè)貼著43號(hào)標(biāo)簽的罐子讓史密斯先生嘗一嘗。史密斯嘗了一口，立即吐了出來(lái)，“太酸了！”他大叫。
“我只是想恢復(fù)你那損壞的味覺(jué)，史密斯先生，”醫(yī)生說(shuō)道。
史密斯回到家里，十分生氣。一個(gè)月后，史密斯先生帶著一個(gè)新問(wèn)題又去找醫(yī)生。“醫(yī)生，”他說(shuō)，“我記不起東西了。”
醫(yī)生搔了搔腦袋，嘀咕了一會(huì)兒，對(duì)史密斯先生說(shuō)道: “你需要的是43號(hào)罐子…….”
醫(yī)生還沒(méi)有說(shuō)完,史密斯先生就縮了回去,飛一般地離開(kāi)了診室。
