bachelor party就是在男生結束單身生活之前，他的好友會為他舉辦的一場party，讓他正式告別單身生活。對應地，weddingshower，也稱為bridal shower，指的則是女子婚前派對，是為即將結婚的女性舉行的聚會。類似的表達還有baby showero BabyShower是美國的一項傳統(tǒng)，是為即將生產(chǎn)的媽媽舉辦的”送禮聚會”，一方面向準媽媽表示祝賀，一方面也對準父母在經(jīng)濟上給予支持，一般在預產(chǎn)期前四到八周舉辦。送養(yǎng)育嬰兒的必胥品是聚會的核心內容o為了客人買禮物方便，在組織聚會時，主人會事先通知客人送禮的“主題。例如，指定不同客人買適合嬰兒在不同季節(jié)的用品，叫做季節(jié)送禮會”(Seasonal Shower)，如果要求所有客人都送一包尿片，就叫做H尿片送禮會“《DiaperShower)。主題完全根據(jù)需要設計，沒有一定之規(guī)。
