圣經故事（4）：Cain Killed His Brother
The man lay with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. She said, ‘With the help of the Lord I have brought a man into being. 'Afterwards she had another child, his brother Abel. Abel was a shepherd and Cain a tiller of the soil. the day came when Cain brought some of the produce of the soil as a gift to the Lord；and Abel brought some of the first-born of his flock, the fat portions of them. The Lord received Abel and his gift with favour；but Cain and his gift he did not receive. Cain was very angry and his face fell. Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you so angry and cast down？If you do well, you are accepted；if not, sin is a demon crouching at the door. It shall be eager for you, and you will be mastered by it. '
Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let us go into the open country. 'While they were there, Cain attacked his brother Abel and murdered him. Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Where is your brother Abel'Cain answered, 'I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper？'The Lord said, 'What have you done？Hark！your brother's blood that has been shed is crying out to me from the ground. Now you are accursed, and banished from the ground. Now you are accursed, and banished from the ground which has opened its mouth wide to receive your brother's blood, which you have shed. When you till the ground, it will no longer yield you its wealth. You shall be a vagrant and a wanderer on earth. 'Cain said to the Lord, 'My punishment is heavier than I can bear；thou hast driven me today from the ground, and I must hide myself from thy presence. I shall be a vagrant and a wanderer on earth, and any one who meets me can kill me. 'The Lord answered him, 'No： if anyone kills Cain, Cainshall be avenged sevenfold. 'Sothe Lord put a mark on Cain, in order that anyone meeting him should not kill him. Then Cain went out from the Lord's presence and settled in the land of Nod to the east of Eden.
該隱殺弟
那男人與妻子夏娃同寢。夏娃懷孕，生下該隱。她說：“天主助我，我生了一個男丁。”后來，她又生了一個孩子，就是該隱的弟弟亞伯。亞伯是個牧人，該隱則是個耕田人。到了向上帝供奉的日子，該隱拿了些土地的產品獻給天主；亞伯則獻出一些精選的乳羊。天主看中了亞伯和他的供品，而沒看中該隱和他的禮物。該隱很生氣。他的臉沉了下來。天主對該隱說：“你為什么這樣生氣，臉色也變了呢？如果你做得好，你就會被接受的。反之，罪惡就會象個魔鬼潛伏在你的門前。它在等待時機找你，你會被它控制的。”
該隱對弟弟亞伯說：“我們到野外去吧。”當他們到了那里，該隱就動手把他弟弟殺死。后來，天主問該隱：“你的弟弟亞伯在哪里？”該隱回答說：“我不知道。我又不是看守著他的。”天主說：“你做了什么事？聽著！你弟弟流出的血從地上向我哭訴。你受到控訴，你要被流放，逐離這塊吞噬被你殘殺的兄弟的鮮血的土地。你要耕種，那地也不會再長出佳禾。你會成為流浪漢，到處漂泊。”該隱對天主說：“我受不了這個懲罰。今天你把我從這里趕走，不讓我再出現在你面前，我將成為一個流浪漢，到處漂泊，遇見我的人都可能殺死我。”天主回答他說：“不，如果有人殺死該隱，他就會遭到七倍的報應。”上帝給該隱做了個標記，這樣遇見他的人就不會殺死他。該隱就離開了天主到伊甸園東邊叫挪得的地方住下來。
