Some say that children are required to obey the rule of their parents.
Others are worried that too much control over children will not prepare them well for their adult life. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
此題是兒童教育的問題,小孩是否應該順從父母。
正方:應該遵守父母的規定
1 rule setting is an effective method in overcoming some upbringing difficulties
對比論證:Parents who are generally more mature and experienced could offer their children wise suggestions when they encounter stumbling blocks. Relying on the advice from parents, children could get over the difficulty finally.
In contrast, concerning teenagers without the guidance of parents, it is highly likely for them to be led astray.
2 children’s duty to obey their elders
因果鏈:In the eyes of most people, especially those in Asian countries, children are supposed to obey the rules of their parents as long as they could, for it is parents who give birth to them. In their opinion, parents spend 20 or more years raising and bringing up their children, totally devoting themselves to their offspring. Therefore, it is sensible enough for children to totally follow the order of their parents to show their gratitude.
反方:too much control is certainly detrimental to children’s future development
1 lack of independence, unable to conquer difficulties and handle different situations
對比論證
A child who tends to listen to their parents and then comply with every rule of them may easily lack the capability to tackle problems on his own, since he has been too accustomed to acting according to what he is asked.
In contrast, if a child could be offered more opportunities to deal with things by himself from an early age, he is more likely to succeed in a world full of challenges and uncertainties.
2 result in hate toward their parents
實驗法
According to a recent survey conducted by the University of Wuhan, China on 156 juvenile delinquents, 60% of them expressed that their hate toward their parents originating from their dictatorship, to a great extent, induced their criminal behavior.
