For the Dog
The family seated in a restaurant had finished their dinner when Father Called over the waiter.
"My son has left quite a lot of meat on his plate," explained Father, "Could you give me a bag so that I can take it home for the dog?"
"Gosh, Dad!" exclaimed the excited boy. "Have we got a dog then?"

I Caught Every Step
Mr. Brown was reading his evening paper when there came a tremendous banging down the stairs. He jumped up, ran to the hall, and discovered his schoolboy son sprawled on the floor.
"Did you miss a step?" asked his dad.
"No, I caught every blessed one!" came the bitter answered.
我一級也沒漏
布朗先生在看晚報，忽然傳來一陣什么東西從樓上摔下來的響聲。他跳了起來，跑到廳里，發現自己上了學的兒子四角朝天地躺在地上。
‘你是不是踩漏了一級臺階？’爸爸問。
‘不，我每一級都撞上了，一級也沒有漏掉！’兒子痛苦地回答。

Sharing the Apples
Harry was given two apples, a small one and a large one, by his Mum. "Share them with your sister," she said.
So Harry gave the small one to his little sister and started touching into the large one.
"Cor!" said his sister, "If Mum had given them to me I’d have given you the large one and had the small one myself."
"Well," said Harry, "that’s what you’ve got, so what are you worrying about?"
分蘋果
媽媽給了哈里兩個蘋果，一個大一點，另一個小點兒。”跟妹妹分著吃。“媽媽說。
所以，哈里就把小個的給了妹妹，自己開始啃那個大個的。
‘哼，’妹妹說，‘如果媽媽給了我，我會把大的給你，把小的留給自己的。’
‘對呀，’哈里說，‘你拿到的不就是小的嗎？還著什么急呀？’

Thank Goodness!
Father: What did you say?
Emma: I said yes -- then she said, "Thank goodness!"
謝天謝地!

父親：你怎么說的？
埃瑪：我說是的 －然后她說：‘謝天謝地!’
