讓人捧腹的英語文化陷阱~ With a grain of salt
一天吃飯的時(shí)候，好友Allen和他的中國籍太太坐在餐桌旁大談最近流行的一種草藥，說它能包治百病。 Allen 說了一句：“I’d like to take it with a grain of salt”。他太太笑道：“你以為它是蔬菜啊，還要加點(diǎn)鹽再吃。健康專家可沒有說過要加鹽。”Allen 愣了一下，然后大笑不已，解釋道“ Take something with a grain of salt” 是“對某事有保留、持懷疑態(tài)度”的意思。 原來剛才Allen 是說他對這種草藥的神奇療效表示懷疑，而不是說要“放些鹽再吃”。
