它們還是"名字"嗎?
如同“陳世美”在中文里就是“負(fù)心郎”的代名詞，美國俚語中大量的表達(dá)方式中也涉及了名字。由于政治，歷史，宗教，文化，日常生活的原因，姓名演義在英文交流中的應(yīng)用既頻繁又生動。現(xiàn)小舉幾例如下：
1.We can pay you $300 a week， minus 10% for Uncle Sam of course. Uncle Sam： 美國政府。
2.When Nancy was younger， she was a plain Jane； now she was a really Betty. plain Jane：相貌平常的女子，Betty： 美女。那么一般普通的男子呢？Plain Joe.
3.I‘m sorry I can’t go play basketball with you because I got a charley horse on my leg. charley horse：（腳，腿）抽痙。
4.My father bought me a Lazy Susan for the dining room table. Now we can reach the salt and pepper without asking. Lazy Susan： 餐桌上的轉(zhuǎn)盤
5.We have a John Doe in the hotel. He has no ID card and has lost his memory. John Doe：沒有身份的人，失憶的人
6.I feel so sad after I receive the Dear John letter from my girlfriend. Dear John letter： 絕交信
7.Nature calls and I have to go find a john. John： 廁所
8.She‘s sluttish as a hooker and doesn’t stop trying to find a john for herself. John： 嫖客。這句話的意思是：她賤得如同一個(gè)妓女，好象就想給自己找個(gè)嫖客。

此外諸如Achilles" heel（致命弱點(diǎn)），Narcissism（自戀癖）， Trojan（勤勞的人）， Cinderella（丑小鴨）……… 等來自與神話傳說或小說故事的姓名演義更是比比皆是。若能在與“Native English Speaker” 實(shí)際交流中加以巧妙運(yùn)用，無疑會讓讓你的口語增色不少。
