in the 18th century, the british once attacked by night a spanish fort on the mosquito coast. a sailor, who had scrambled over the walls, became in the confusion separated from the main body of the assailants. he had provided himself with two cutlasses, one in each hand, and, thus armed, met a spanish officer, who, suddenly roused from sleep, had rushed out unarmed. the brave sailor without hesitation presented his opponent with one of the cutlasses, observing that he scorned to take any advantage of an enemy. the spaniard, amazed at this elevation of mind, yielded himself to his foe.
十八 世 紀 期 間 ， 英 軍 有 一 次 夜 襲 莫 斯 基 托 海 岸 一 個 西 班 牙 城 堡 。 一 名 水 兵 爬 過 城 墻 ，紛 亂 之 中 脫 離 了 攻 城 大 軍 。 他 配 備 了 兩 把 短 刀 ， 左 右 手 各 執 一 把 ， 就 這 樣 拿 雙 刀 ， 碰 到 一 名 西 班 牙 軍 官 。 這 軍 官 從 夢 中 突 然 驚 醒 ， 沒 有 拿 武 器 就 沖 出 來 。 那 勇敢 的 水 兵 毫 不 猶 豫 ， 將 一 把 短 刀 交 給 對 手 ， 說 不 屑 占 敵 人 便 宜 。 西 班 牙 軍 官 見 他 如此 高 義 ， 深 感 驚 訝 ， 自 愿 投 降 。
