23：1 那時(shí)，耶穌對(duì)眾人和門(mén)徒講論，Then spake Jesus to the multitude， and to his disciples，

　　23：2 說(shuō)，文士和法利賽人，坐在摩西的位上。

　　Saying， The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat：

　　23：3 凡他們所吩咐你們的，你們都要謹(jǐn)守，遵行。但不要效法他們的行為。因?yàn)樗麄兡苷f(shuō)不能行。

　　All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe， that observe and do； but do not ye after their works： for they say， and do not.

　　23：4 他們把難擔(dān)的重?fù)?dān)，捆起來(lái)擱在人的肩上。但自己一個(gè)指頭也不肯動(dòng)。

　　For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne， and lay them on men's shoulders； but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

　　23：5 他們一切所作的事，都是要叫人看見(jiàn)。所以將佩戴的經(jīng)文做寬了，衣裳的？？子做長(zhǎng)了。

　　But all their works they do for to be seen of men： they make broad their phylacteries， and enlarge the borders of their garments，

　　23：6 喜愛(ài)筵席上的首座，會(huì)堂里的高位。

　　And love the uppermost rooms at feasts， and the chief seats in the synagogues，

　　23：7 又喜愛(ài)人在街市上問(wèn)他安，稱呼他拉比。（拉比就是夫子）

　　And greetings in the markets， and to be called of men， Rabbi， Rabbi.

　　23：8 但你們不要受拉比的稱呼。因?yàn)橹挥幸晃皇悄銈兊姆蜃印Ｄ銈兌际堑苄帧?/p>

　　But be not ye called Rabbi： for one is your Master， even Christ； and all ye are brethren.

　　23：9 也不要稱呼地上的人為父。因?yàn)橹挥幸晃皇悄銈兊母福褪窃谔焐系母浮?/p>

　　And call no man your father upon the earth： for one is your Father， which is in heaven.

　　23：10 也不要受師尊的稱呼。因?yàn)橹挥幸晃皇悄銈兊膸熥穑褪腔健?/p>

　　Neither be ye called masters： for one is your Master， even Christ.

　　23：11 你們中間誰(shuí)為大，誰(shuí)就要作你們的用人。

　　But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

　　23：12 凡自高的必降為卑，自卑的必升為高。

　　And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased； and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

　　23：13 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈冋?dāng)人前把天國(guó)的門(mén)關(guān)了。自己不進(jìn)去，正要進(jìn)去的人，你們也不容他們進(jìn)去。（有古卷在此有But woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men： for ye neither go in yourselves， neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

　　23：14 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了，因?yàn)槟銈兦滞坦褘D的家產(chǎn)，假意作很長(zhǎng)的禱告，你們要受更重的刑罰）

　　Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye devour widows' houses， and for a pretence make long prayer： therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

　　23：15 你們這假冒為善的文士法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈冏弑檠蠛ｊ懙兀匆粋€(gè)人入教。既入了教，卻使他作地獄之子，比你們還加倍。

　　Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte， and when he is made， ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

　　23：16 你們這瞎眼領(lǐng)路的有禍了。你們說(shuō)，凡指著殿起誓的，這算不得什么。只是凡指著殿中金子起誓的，他就該謹(jǐn)守。

　　Woe unto you， ye blind guides， which say， Whosoever shall swear by the temple， it is nothing； but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple， he is a debtor！

　　23：17 你們這無(wú)知瞎眼的人哪，什么是大的，是金子呢，還是叫金子成圣的殿呢。

　　Ye fools and blind： for whether is greater， the gold， or the temple that sanctifieth the gold？

　　23：18 你們又說(shuō)，凡指著壇起誓的，這算不得什么。只是指著壇上禮物起誓的，他就該謹(jǐn)守。

　　And， Whosoever shall swear by the altar， it is nothing； but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it， he is guilty.

　　23：19 你們這瞎眼的人哪，什么是大的，是禮物呢，還是叫禮物成圣的壇呢。

　　Ye fools and blind： for whether is greater， the gift， or the altar that sanctifieth the gift？

　　23：20 所以人指著壇起誓，就是指著壇和壇上一切所有的起誓。

　　Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar， sweareth by it， and by all things thereon.

　　23：21 人指著殿起誓，就是指著殿和住在殿里的起誓。

　　And whoso shall swear by the temple， sweareth by it， and by him that dwelleth therein.

　　23：22 人指著天起誓，就是指著神的寶座和那坐在上面的起誓。

　　And he that shall swear by heaven， sweareth by the throne of God， and by him that sitteth thereon.

　　23：23 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈儗⒈『桑钕悖鄄耍?3：23）獻(xiàn)上十分之一。那律法上更重的事，就是公義，憐憫，信實(shí)，反倒不行了。這更重的是你們當(dāng)行的；那也是不可不行的。

　　Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin， and have omitted the weightier matters of the law， judgment， mercy， and faith： these ought ye to have done， and not to leave the other undone.

　　23：24 你們這瞎眼領(lǐng)路的，蠓蟲(chóng)你們就濾出來(lái)，駱駝你們倒吞下去。

　　Ye blind guides， which strain at a gnat， and swallow a camel.

　　23：25 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈兿磧舯P(pán)的外面，里面卻盛滿了勒索和放蕩。

　　Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter， but within they are full of extortion and excess.

　　23：26 你這瞎眼的法利賽人，先洗凈杯盤(pán)的里面，好叫外面也乾凈了。

　　Thou blind Pharisee， cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter， that the outside of them may be clean also.

　　23：27 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈兒孟穹埏椀膲災(zāi)梗饷婧每矗锩鎱s裝滿了死人的骨頭，和一切的污穢。

　　Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ for ye are like unto whited sepulchres， which indeed appear beautiful outward， but are within full of dead men's bones， and of all uncleanness.

　　23：28 你們也是如此，在人前，外面顯出公義來(lái)，里面卻裝滿了假善和不法的事。

　　Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men， but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

　　23：29 你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了。因?yàn)槟銈兘ㄔ煜戎膲灒揎椓x人的墓，說(shuō)，Woe unto you， scribes and Pharisees， hypocrites！ because ye build the tombs of the prophets， and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous，

　　23：30 若是我們?cè)谖覀冏孀诘臅r(shí)候，必不和他們同流先知的血。

　　And say， If we had been in the days of our fathers， we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

　　23：31 這就是你們自己證明，是殺害先知者的子孫了。

　　Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves， that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

　　23：32 你們?nèi)コ錆M你們祖宗的惡貫吧。

　　Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

　　23：33 你們這些蛇類，毒蛇之種阿，怎能逃脫地獄的刑罰呢。

　　Ye serpents， ye generation of vipers， how can ye escape the damnation of hell？

　　23：34 所以我差譴先知和智慧人并文士，到你們這里來(lái)。有的你們要?dú)⒑Γ斒旨堋Ｓ械哪銈円跁?huì)堂里鞭打，從這城追逼到那城。

　　Wherefore， behold， I send unto you prophets， and wise men， and scribes： and some of them ye shall kill and crucify； and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues， and persecute them from city to city：

　　23：35 叫世上所流義人的血，都?xì)w到你們身上。從義人亞伯拉罕的血起，直到你們?cè)诘詈蛪虚g所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。

　　That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth， from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias， whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

　　23：36 我實(shí)在告訴你們，這一切的罪，都要?dú)w到這世代了。

　　Verily I say unto you， All these things shall come upon this generation.

　　23：37 耶路撒冷阿，耶路撒冷阿，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這里來(lái)的人。我多次愿意聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，只是你們不愿意。

　　O Jerusalem， Jerusalem， thou that killest the prophets， and stonest them which are sent unto thee， how often would I have gathered thy children together， even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings， and ye would not！

　　23：38 看哪，你們的家成為荒場(chǎng)，留給你們。

　　Behold， your house is left unto you desolate.

　　23：39 我告訴你們，從今以后，你們不得再見(jiàn)我，直等到你們說(shuō)，奉主名來(lái)的，是應(yīng)當(dāng)稱頌的。

　　For I say unto you， Ye shall not see me henceforth， till ye shall say， Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
